August 2016 Country Fair Blog Party

Well, it finally happened.  I am about 4 days late posting this blog party this month.  We barely survived the County Fair with a sick husband who didn't come to the fair for at least 36 hours, came just before the shows and left early most nights...yes, he was really sick, but the boys and I took care of everything and survived the heat ourselves.  The boys managed to bring home some champion ribbons, showed a tremendous growth in maturity and exhibited all they have learned over the years in 4-H.  Last month, Lisa talked about the Jr. National Hangover which is minor compared to the county fair one I am experiencing now, but we all remember why we put ourselves through it in the end!

Now, onto the blog party!  Here are some of the party favorites from June!

January 2016 Country Fair Blog Party

How has another year passed?  My Grandmother was right when she used to warn me that time passes faster when you get older.  Our family is looking forward to a new year of success and learning!  I am excited to see what the new year brings and what new posts will be linked up to the Country Fair Blog Party, too!

I think I must have been hungry as I scrolled through last month's posts as all of my favorites are recipes.

Seriously, time has to slow down.  The month of August is a complete blur in my mind.  September sure needs to slow down because I have a major Birthday coming up and I am totally not ready for that!  Welcome to the September Edition of the Country Fair Blog Party!  I haven't been blogging much, but I have been working on travel arrangements for Flat Aggie and I am excited to start sharing those adventures with you.

Here are my favorite posts from last month's party:

May Country Fair Blog Party

Welcome back to this month's edition of the Country Fair Blog Party!  I am always so excited to see who stops by to link up and new faces get me really excited!  May is a month of celebrations around our house.  Graduation Celebrations.  Celebrating the wheat is almost ready to harvest.  School is out celebrations.  Celebrating that the corn is up and growing.  Calving is finished celebrating, too.

Here are some of my favorite posts from last month's party:

I have to say that I love the unfiltered honesty of this post from Positive Inspired Living.  We are who we are and not who others think we are or should be.

The Heath Revolution that is described by A Return to Simplicity is one that I could really get into and I think you might like it, too.
What would happen if we moved our "gyms" outside, and did active and productive work instead of useless toil on non-productive machines? A Health Revolution | areturntosimplicity.com

Those of you that have followed me very long know that I can't pass up a good recipe and this month I picked 2!

Roadside Potatoes from My Barnyard View and Blueberry Rum Punch from Little Blog on the Homestead.

If you are ready to get your hands dirty in the garden, Grow a Good Life has a great plan to grow salsa and even has the recipe to use when your produce is ready later this summer!   Fresh salsa is one thing I absolutely love all summer long.

Country Fair Blog Party #9

Welcome to our weekly addition of the Country Fair Blog Party!  It’s a place for bloggers to share their finest each week whether they live in the city, country, or somewhere in between.  It’s a place to brag a little about what you have been doing.

What have you been up to?  I have busy planting in the flower beds, moving things around and getting things planted from a plant exchange the boys and I attended last night.  I just love plant exchanges.  We come home with a great selection of plants and don't have to spend a dime.  Don't know what a plant exchange is?  Check out my post on Plant Swapping.

Now on to the Blog Party!  Just like a local county fair we name Grand Champions each week in 3 divisions: Food, DIY Projects, and Agriculture.  You can find the champions from previous blog parties on my Pinterest boards Ag, Food, and DIY.

Here are the Grand Champions from Country Fair Blog Party #7.

FOOD

Paleo Stuffed Artichokes from Battling the Home Front

AGRICULTURE

10 Ways to Be a Great Farm Wife by Old Blue Silo

Feel free to join in the fun and link up with up to 3 posts!  Click through the links and find some new friends and leave us a comment to tell us what your favorite post is.
