2013 Top Recipe Posts

I have taken a look back at my most popular recipes this last year.  There are main dishes, soups, breakfasts, snacks and desserts.  I am also glad I have friends willing to share their recipes because several guest submissions made my Top 10 Recipes of 2013.

What was your favorite recipe from my blog this year?  Did it make the list?

What kind of recipes would you like to see more of in 2014?

And an Honorable Mention to the List, because I need to make these this week and it was really close and these were my most requested birthday dinner as a kid:

You can also see the Top 5 Farm Related Posts from my blog.  You might be surprised to know that I didn't write 2 of the top 5!

Crock Pot Time Savers

Crock Pot Time Savers

Moms whether on the farm or not love their crock pots.  When time is tight and the kids have lots of activities that bring long days, I like to load mine in the morning.  If I am lucky, I make enough to have left overs for the next day as well.

A Ranch Wife's Favorite Beef Recipes

At my house, we almost always have a freezer full of beef which is a good thing because our family not only raises beef, but we love beef.
Beef is a great source of zinc, iron, and protein which happen to be the most lacked nutrients in the diets of young children and adult women.
Here are some of our family's favorite beef recipes and a few favs from some of our farming friends, too.  If you would prefer to see pictures of all of these delicious recipes, check out my Beef Recipe Pinterest Board.

Scrumptious Side Dishes and Salads

I am one of those bad moms that gets totally wrapped up in the main dish of a meal and at the last possible minute thinks, hmmm....I guess we should have something to go with this.  I am really trying to do better.  Vegetables and salads are becoming more common at our table.  I am thinking if I put my pathetic list of some of my favorites here, maybe it will remind that I need to fix more side dishes and more vegies for my growing boys.

What are some of your favorite sides?  Feel free to share them with me, because I need all the help I can get.

Don't have a link and would like to share?  Contact me and I will let you share your recipe here on my blog.

Freezer Pleasers Recipe Index

The busiest people need a resource of quick meals that either heat up great or bake with no prep.  I usually keep my freezer stocked with a variety of prepped food especially when we are busy during harvest and calving.

My Late Night Dinner Selections are those that are fully cooked and reheat tasting as good as the first time we ate them.  These are great when we get home late and no one has had time to think about a meal let alone start one.

My Company's Coming Selections are recipes that the prep can be done ahead of time and then baked/served when company is at your house, allowing you more time to spend with friends and family.

Book Barn Review Index

I am always on the lookout for books with an Ag Theme that are mostly accurate.  My boys and I have quite a collection.  Here are some of our favorites.  Did we miss any?  Let me know.  If you would like to write a quick review of one (or more) of your favorite kids ag book, message me and I will let you know what I need. If you just want to give me a book to 2 to check out at the library that is great, too!  (The ones in blue I have written reviews that you can click on to read.)

Pork The Other White Meat

Most people think of pork as the other white meat, but in our house it is the only white meat we eat.  I have some great friends that raise pigs for you, me and their families.  Many of them have shared some of their family's favorite recipes with me.

I love the diversity of recipes that you can make with pork.  My boys love the recipes that have fruit cooked with the pork.
